Instalar Windows Media Player 11 en Windows Server 2003
Dejar un comentarioEncontré cómo instalar WMP11 en Windows 2003 Server con éxito, sólo sigue estas sencillas instrucciones:
I found a fairly easy way to install WMP11 on 2003 w/SP2.
1. Extract the download executable (e.g., wmp11-windowsxp-x86-enu.exe) with WinZip or the equivalent.
2. Open the extracted folder and extract wmfdist11.exe and wmp11.exe to separate folders.
3. Run the compatibility wizard (start/Help and Support, search for “compatibility”, select “Getting older programs to run on the Windows Server 2003 family of products : Windows”
4. Click “Program Compatibility Wizard”
5. Choose locate the program manually
6. Browse to the update.exe in the extracted wmfdist11.exe folder (e.g., c:\wmp11-windowsxp-x86-enu\wmfdist11\update\update.exe)
7. Choose XP compatibility and defaults for the rest of the screen.
8. Uncheck the restart now box.
9. Repeat steps 3 through 7 for the wmp11.
This worked on a machine that I just installed 2003 SP2 on via Windows Update, which cause my WMP10 to be uninstalled.

La semana pasada me inscribí en la campaña de los 7 pasos de Greenpeace para ayudar a cambiar el clima. Empezamos cambiando los focos incandescentes, pero abarca el uso eficiente de la energía en general. Tienes que inscribirte:

Greenpeace propone una “Revolución de la Energía” para salvar al mundo de los catastróficos cambios climáticos. Ahorrar la energía que usamos es sólo la mitad. Y esta campaña es sobre personas como nosotros para ayudar a que desaparezcan los productos que desperdician energía, como los focos incandescentes. Cada semana, durante siete semanas, Greenpeace te enviará un correo con instrucciones para hacer campaña con eficacia para el rendimiento energético.
Cada tonelada de dióxido de carbono que llega a la atmósfera, cada planta de energía que usa combustibles fósiles, como el carbón, y cada foco instalado que desperdicia energía hace más difícil que podamos revertir el cambio climático. Sobre 5 de Mayo
En las pasadas fiestas navideñas, nos escapamos al Zócalo capitalino, pasábamos por la calle de 5 de Mayo y quise tener una imagen de estos casi extintos personajes, ahí se las dejo.
Barra de herramientas usando botones
Después de buscar la opción mas usable para una barra de herramientas (toolbar), dónde se pudiera incluir un icono para cada botón. Al final me quedé con los botones que se pueden mejorar visualmente con CSS y funcionan sin javascript
En la forma incluímos un fieldset para posteriormente agregarle un poco de estilo. Usamos un span dentro del button para poder poner el icono y un fondo al botón. Con el span ponemos un icono como fondo y un padding-left del ancho del icono para dejarle espacio suficiente, en el button ponemos una imagen de fondo y un borde de 1 pixel sólido para que se note cuando presionas el botón.

Para evitar que el antivirus intervenga al mover el archivo después de subirlo, entonces hay que copiarlo y luego interntar borrar el archivo temporal y avisar si no se pudo borrar. Con esto espero resolver el problema que persiste actualmente al subir un archivo que revisa el antivirus.
